Day 1

Arrival at Kotoka International Airport for a drive to stay at KNUST Guest House

Day 2

Meet at breakfast for itinerary discussion and depart Accra to stay at Ho Sky Plus in the Volta regional capital, with a stop at Shai Hills Game Reserve, where we engage in a walking tour to view antelopes and baboons and break at Aylos Bay Lake from resort.  While at Ho, we also visit Vegus Batik shop for a workshop on batik fabric making.

Day 3

We will travel to stay at Anyanui/Keta? With a stop at Agortime Kpetoe Kete weaving center, to learn about the history of Ghana’s most popular hand woven fabric famously known as Kente claimed to be adopted from kenteng meaning basket in Akan. This is also said to have been derived from the name Ke- meaning open and Te meaning compress in Ewe describing the process of weaving hence the original name Kete by the people of Agortime Kpetoe. They believe their ancestors who were captured during ancient wars thought the Ashanti people by the Ewe language Ke – Te as described above brought about the pronunciation Kente in Akan. You may also love to practice the process to understand the meaning of Kete as described and find some fabrics for your personal use or as souvenirs for friends and relatives; we also stop at Aflao to have a look at the border activities in Ghana’s main eastern border town with Togo’s capital Lome.keta beach,

Day 4

We drive to stay at KNUST Guest House, with stops at Vu Lagoon and Ada where we experience a cruise on the Volta River to visit Volta estuary.

Day 5  

We drive to visit Artists Alliance the largest Artefacts shop and Accra culture center also the largest artifacts market in Ghana, where you may find beautiful artifacts for personal decorations at home, or as souvenirs for friends and relatives, before driving to the airport. Lunch will be at Labadi
